Privacy Policy

Linkboxer is a link-saving tool. This page explains what information it collects, what it's used for, and the choices you have about it. The short version: we collect what the app needs to do its job, we don't share your personal information with anyone, and everything you've saved is yours to export at any time.

What we collect

• Account information — your email address, your password (stored encrypted, never in plain text), and an optional first name.
• Content you save — the links, titles, descriptions, tags, categories, notes, screenshots, and RSS feed subscriptions you add to your account.
• Basic technical data — standard server logs (like IP address and browser type) that any web server keeps, used only for security and keeping the service running.
• Cookies — a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a small cookie to remember your theme preference. Both are functional; neither is used for advertising.

What we don't collect

We don't run any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts — nothing from Google Analytics, ad networks, or similar services. Anything Linkboxer keeps track of about how you use it — which links you've saved, read, or favorited, for instance — exists only to power the app's own features for you. It's never bundled into a profile, and it's never sold.

How your content is used

Your saved links are used to show you your own box of links, back to you, across whichever devices you're signed in on. If you use automatic tagging, the page's own title, description, and keywords — fetched fresh from the URL itself, the same way any browser preview would — are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate tags and categories. Clips work the same way: a screenshot you take is sent to Claude to pull a quote out of it. Neither of these sends any information that identifies you — no email, no name, no account ID. All Anthropic ever sees is the page content itself, the same content that's already public on the web, used solely to answer that one request.

Third parties

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own purposes — no data brokers, no ad networks, nothing like that. The service providers below only ever receive what a specific feature needs to work, never your account details:

• Anthropic — receives page content (not your account information, as described above) to power AI tagging, categorization, and Clips.
• Payment processors — if and when a paid plan launches, Apple's App Store or Stripe would handle payment directly. Linkboxer never sees or stores your card details either way.
• Hosting infrastructure — the server Linkboxer runs on, which is where your account and content are stored. Nothing here leaves that server except as described above.

The public Community feed

Sharing a link to the Community feed is opt-in and happens only when you choose to share something. Once shared, that link's title and URL are visible to anyone who visits the Community page — including people without a Linkboxer account — either under your first name or anonymously, whichever you pick at the time. A link's description, tags, and notes are never shown there, only its title and URL. Nothing from your account is ever shared publicly unless you take that action yourself.

Your data, on demand

Everything you've saved — links, tags, categories, and feed subscriptions — is available as a full JSON export any time you want it, straight from your account, no request needed. It's yours; you're never locked in.

Deleting your account

We don't yet have a self-service "delete my account" button. Email us at support@linkboxer.com and we'll remove your account and everything in it.

Children's privacy

Linkboxer isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted for signed-in accounts.
